Supporting people in suicidal or emotional distress, and isolation —

wherever you are.

A place to pause.

A place to breathe.

A place to be heard.

Hunter Mobile Safe Space is a mobile extension of Lake Mac Safe Space, bringing the same trusted, non-clinical suicide prevention support into communities across the Hunter region.
Through our mobile van and trained lived‑experience peer workers, we create pop‑up Safe Spaces where people can step away from what feels overwhelming, connect with someone who will listen, and feel supported in the moment they’re in.
We exist because connection saves lives — and support should be available where people are, not only where buildings are.
Free. Confidential. No appointment.

About Us

Group of people standing under community-led Safe Space Lake Macquarie booth promoting mental health support for those experiencing suicidal distress.
Hunter Mobile Safe Space operates under the same values, care approach, and Safe Space model as Lake Mac Safe Space.
We provide non‑clinical, short‑term, emotional and suicide‑prevention support for people experiencing distress, feeling overwhelmed, or having thoughts of suicide.
Our team is made up of trained lived‑experience peer workers who understand what it’s like to sit in hard moments — and who offer presence, compassion, and hope without judgement or pressure.
The mobile model allows Safe Space support to:
  • Reach regional and rural communities
  • Be present at events and gatherings
  • Support people in high‑stress or high‑attendance environments
  • Complement existing community and wellbeing services
